    Role Summary

    The News Services department is responsible for tracking The Madison Square Garden Company’s print, digital and broadcast media presence in the tri-state area and relevant markets.

    Specific Functions/Activities Summary

    The Part Time News Service Monitor is responsible for monitoring their designated media publications (both print and online) and radio shows for any MSG or MSG-related content.  The Monitor will need to read and review news publications, media outlets, social media and radio shows to ensure that this content is captured in their reports.


    The ideal candidate will have experience in communications, preferably at a media/entertainment, news or sports company or property; or agency experience representing media/entertainment companies. Excellent writing, verbal communication and project-management skills are necessary.  Knowledge of Company teams and properties – as well as the media outlets that cover them – is essential. Must have the ability to interpret and evaluate news items accurately and with urgency, spotting current trends and forecasting potential issue. This candidate must understand how to prioritize multiple demands and understand the time sensitivity around this work. This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.


    Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
