    Role Summary

    This position supports Live Entertainment & Sports Properties Accounting in day-to-day operations, as well as the monthly and quarterly accounting close. Related to closes, this role will manage the preparation and posting of journal entries, generating income statements and preparing balance sheet reconciliations. This position provides on-going financial support to Productions, Live and Sport Properties product groups and the finance department. Responsibilities also include providing general support for the Director, Accounting Entertainment & Sports Properties and the VP Controller, Entertainment.

    This position will work with internal and external auditors on the quarters and at year-end on audit requests.

    Specific Functions/Activities Summary

    • Maintain a complete and accurate general ledger for the Entertainment, Sports Properties and Production businesses in accordance with GAAP, including reviewing all transactional detail in the general ledger and prepare any necessary journal entries. This will include “by event” detailed reconciliations of GL results versus anticipated (flash) results using both internal reporting systems and the GL (Oracle).
    • Work closely with finance counterparts to ensure event revenue is posted correctly based on event settlements and that expenses and accruals are also accurately recorded
    • Track and reconcile G&A expenses in collaboration with the finance department
    • Track billing processes and cash receipts via various systems and manual A/R for items
    • Assist in coordinating and responding to audit requests
    • Review and approve Coupa requisitions and Concur expenses
    • Review and approve manual vendor invoices for approvals and proper coding, and submit to Accounts Payable for processing
    • Assist with quarterly deliverables for external reporting as well as assist with coordinating and responding to Internal Audit and KPMG audit requests
    • Support the accounting group’s day-to-day activities and complete special projects in an accurate and timely manner, as assigned.
    • Provide support to VP Controller and Director regarding ad-hoc accounting requests (i.e. support with TAO, team presentations to SVP Controller, etc…)

    Qualifications

    • BS or BA Accounting/Finance (CPA a plus but not required)
    • Minimum 3+ years of related experience (Big 4 Accounting or Live Entertainment Experience a plus)
    • Detail oriented – must be driven and have a desire to research and resolve variances.
    • Excellent written, organization, time management and verbal communication skills.
    • Be a self-starter, have a sense of urgency and be a dedicated team player.
    • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and respond accordingly.
    • Be creative and innovative to achieve results.
    • High level of energy and commitment - must display a positive, confident assertive personality and be able to work on projects until completion.
    • Ability to interact with all levels of management and third-party promoters.
    • Strong skills in Excel required.
    • Preferred systems experience includes Oracle, HCM, TM1, Anaplan.

    Education

    Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
