    Role Summary

    Therefore, we’re looking for a self-starting, energetic, and emerging marketing guru with a passion for diversity and inclusion to help us change the game of hockey. This person will collaborate with us to create new and innovative entry points for diverse audiences, inspire more children to play, and ultimately help the world love this game as much as we do.

    Specific Functions/Activities Summary

    • Work directly with the research and insights departments to develop and analyze fan data, competitive activity, sales volume, and market trends to build a solid understanding of existing and prospective (read: diverse) fan communities in support of development of marketing strategies.
    • Lead development of integrated marketing campaigns for the New York Rangers and Junior Rangers ensuring relevant, consistent, and frequent application of the brand narrative (inclusive of development of the marketing calendar, creative briefs, style guides and toolkits).
    • Collaborate and coordinate across all marketing functions (e.g., ticket sales, partnerships, PR, media, creative, insights, digital/social, event presentations, community) with internal stakeholders and external agencies and partners.
    • Utilize strong project management and collaborative skills to ensure flawless and results-oriented campaign execution.
    • Represent marketing in development and execution of tentpole events (e.g., Hockey Week in New York, Outdoor Practice, Playoffs, and Draft) alongside our events department.
    • Assess daily and weekly sales and performance trends across channels to optimize media mix and creative approaches.
    • Develop marketing approaches to attract and retain customers through email, digital initiatives and events.
    • Work with the Retention and Brand teams to build and evolve our Season Ticket Member programs – create a core program of benefits and experiences, identify and test new benefits/ideas, monitor satisfaction levels and adjust accordingly.
    • Closely monitoring market trends and competitive activity
    • Managing Advertising & Marketing budgets for specific products/brands


    • 8-10 years of marketing experience inclusive of strategy and integrated campaign development
    • Significant experience in development and the execution of cross-channel campaigns, especially across TV, web, social, and OOH
    • Significant experience in partnering with media teams to develop media strategy and execution plans
    • Significant experience with writing creative brief, managing budgets and timelines
    • Strong understanding and experience with multi-cultural audiences (second language skills a plus)
    • Strong understanding of digital strategy and proven ability to execute multi-channel campaigns
    • Proven track record of managing projects on-time and on budget in a fast-paced environment
    • Proven ability to work/collaborate in a highly-matrixed organization
    • Ability to translate campaign results into actionable insights and optimization 
    • Proven track record of being nimble, working long hours, and enjoying the odd happy hour
    • While hockey experience is not a requirement, we do want someone that can get fired up about changing the status quo and bringing this game to new (younger, more diverse) audiences
    • 2+ years managerial experience Advertising Agency experience is strongly preferred
    • Experience in integrated marketing campaigns – managing and executing across full project cycle
    • Experience in developing lead generation initiatives
    • Experience in email marketing
    • Experience in development of events / experiential marketing
    • Spanish language skills a plus 


    Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
