    Role Summary

    Perform daily activities that provide for the protection of facilities, properties, employees and guests.  To include but not limited to the following: building safety walk through, locking and unlocking of doors, escorts, controlling building access, answering main phone line, signing for packages, administrative duties and responding to all calls for assistance.

     

    Specific Functions/Activities Summary

     

    • Ensure protection of facilities, properties, employees and guests of the Chicago Theatre.
    • Promote positive guest/client experience. Uphold commitment of MSG “Circle of Service” standards and MSG’s Mission and Values.
    • Maintain professional manner, presence, and appearance at all times while on premises
    • Arrive for scheduled shift on time and in proper MSG approved uniform.
    • Prevent access to any areas of the facility by any unauthorized individuals.
    • Conduct building safety walk throughs and monitor CCTV and alarm systems.
    • Report potential building deficiencies, security concerns, or safety issues to the Director of House Operations.
    • Responsible for checking bags and screening guests/employees to ensure overall safety.
    • Serve as a security escort and respond to security assistance calls during performances, load-in/load outs, and business operating hours.
    • Disseminate fire alarm notifications to engineers and central station.
    • Be prepared to take an active role in Emergency Operations procedures (evacuation plan) through on-going training and drills.
    • Lock/unlock facility doors according to scheduled requirements.
    • Uphold timely entries for all logbooks as it dictates.
    • Answers all phone calls on main phone line, transfers calls to appropriate staff members.
    • Perform administrative duties including logging lost and found items, contacting House Operations staff to confirm schedules/call times, update spreadsheets as directed, accept mail/UPS/FedEx packages and confirmation slips.
    • Participates in special projects and other tasks as assigned.

     

     

    Qualifications

     

    • One to two years of previous security experience required; security license a must.
    • Will have the ability to enforce departmental policies and procedures with fairness and consistency.
    • Must have flexible availability including weekends, evening and holidays.
    • Strong verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to work well under pressure.
    • Strong customer service and decision making skills highly preferred.
    • Working knowledge of PC software programs (Microsoft Office) and email programs.
    • Obtain Fire Guard certificate upon request.
