    The Madison Square Garden Company’s vision is to revolutionize entertainment through MSG Sphere – state-of-the-art venues that will pioneer the next generation of immersive experiences and create unforgettable moments. MSG Sphere will utilize a number of cutting-edge technologies to become the first venue to deliver large-scale, fully immersive experiences. Inside the venue, these technologies include: the largest and highest resolution LED screen on Earth; an advanced acoustics system featuring beamforming technology; an infrasound haptic system that uses vibrations so guests can “feel” the experience; and connectivity that will deliver 25 megabits per second for every guest. Together these technologies will create a powerful platform, making MSG Sphere the venue of choice for a wide variety of content -- including attractions, concerts, residencies, corporate events, product launches and select sporting events. MSG is building its first MSG Sphere venue in Las Vegas with the goal of completing the project during calendar year 2021. In addition to its iconic spherical shape, MSG Sphere in Las Vegas will feature a fully programmable LED exterior.

    Role Summary

    MSG is looking for a VP of Post Production to manage the post production for the newly created MSG Sphere Studios. As the creative content shop for the MSG Sphere projects, we strive for the best content creation, delivering content that has never been witnessed before on displays that have never been seen in this scale.

    Reporting to the General Manager, LA and working closely with the Heads of Production, Show production leadership and the Ventures technical production leadership, this candidate must demonstrate, real world post production leadership experience in high caliber feature film, VFX, or digital media production with a proven track record of managing successful post production necessary to complete the visual and technically complex content for Sphere. This role requires a deep understanding of production through to post production processes. For Sphere production, production processes start with capture, move through plate reconstruction, vfx to final while all along the way, the VP of Post production manages the work reel and then at final cut, the conversion to displayable media.
    The ideal candidate will be well versed in large format and high resolution production

    Specific Functions/Activities Summary

    • Oversee post-production project scopes (editing, sound, mixing), schedules, estimates, and technical needs for MSG Sphere content creation
    • Establish and lead staff of postproduction department and workflow
    • Liaise with the Technical departments to ensure that your department needs are met
    • Collaborate regularly with creative, production and technical teammates, and senior management.
    • Drive efficiency and improve quality by implementing tools, best practices, internal frameworks, components and standards
    • Maintain relationships with external vendors ensuring all deliverables are met.
    • Manage post scope for all other related filming such as behind the scenes, trailers, external media plane content, marketing, promo videos, content library and portals.
    • Maintain a deep technical understanding of past & present post production techniques including VFX, CG, Game Engine techniques, VR/360 processes
    • Troubleshoot post problems and issues
    • Strong understanding file-based workflows, codecs and compressions schemes.



    • 15+ years of previous experience as a Post production producer or similar role
    • Must have experience with large format/CG/360 content creation
    • Expert knowledge of production workflows, pipelines and project management from concept to final digital media delivery
    • Experience in managing a team and collaborating with other production departments
    • A confident, professional, and persuasive communication style with senior leaders and team members
    • A passion for creative problem-solving and strategic thinking
    • Ability to remain flexible and calm in high-pressure situations and adjust as multiple moving parts consistently change
    • Shotgun experience a plus
