Responsibilities

The Security Architect will be tasked with partnering with MSG’s Technology team to design, build and implement network and computer security. They are responsible for protecting enterprise information by determining security requirements, planning, implementing, and testing security systems and preparing security standards, policies, and procedures. They will do so by acquiring a complete understanding of MSGs technologies and information systems, and becoming well versed in the operating structure of MSG IT. 

 

MAIN DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Work closely with MSG Technology staff (first line support) to ensure organization is properly prepared for security threats and potential incidents/events
  • Partner with the Network Engineers to develop security requirements for local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), virtual private networks (VPNs), routers, firewalls, and related network devices
  • Perform vulnerability testing, risk analyses and security assessments (VMP Vulnerability Management Program)
  • Upgrades security systems by monitoring security environment; identifying security gaps; evaluating and implementing enhancements
  • Define, implement and maintain corporate security policies and procedures
  • Test final security structures and processes to ensure they behave as expected
  • In partnership with the Incident Response Manager, respond immediately to security-related incidents and provide a thorough post-event analysis
  • Stay abreast of the latest information security controls, practices, techniques and capabilities in the marketplace; lead internal skills development activities for information security personnel on the topic of security monitoring and incident response, by providing mentoring and by conducting knowledge sharing sessions
  • Provide technical supervision and guidance to the information security team and work with Chief Information Security Officer to develop training and communication plan to ensure organization is aware of incident management process and proper protocol.
  • Stay abreast of the latest information security controls, practices, techniques and capabilities in the marketplace; lead internal skills development activities for information security personnel on the topic of security monitoring and incident response, by providing mentoring and by conducting knowledge sharing sessions
  • Develop training and communication plan to ensure organization is aware of incident management process and proper protocol.

Qualifications

  • 5 - 7 years of relevant IT experience, including exposure to business planning, systems analysis and application development.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience and advanced knowledge of IT Security concepts, security assessments, associated security software tools and industry standards.

Education

Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
