We require work on all product stages from ideation and development to design and manufacture, through to installation and final commissioning. The goal is to inject this discipline into the ventures design ecosystem, helping visualize and materialize physical objects and mechanisms critical to communication of advanced ideas and concepts.


This candidate will develop the “rapid prototyping” discipline, which will support all subject matter experts needs as related to the interdependence of the physical and digital. Designing physical objects in order to attain the goal of visitor immersion.


This individual will partner with MSG Ventures Principal Engineers, Building Architects and Product  Vendors to design and develop innovative products related to Wireless Infrastructure and Audiovisual Systems that will be integrated into the existing and new venues. 

  • Develop products and packaging for prototype devices and concepts to advance the venue experience
  • Design of enclosures to package electronics modules such as WiFi access points and audio speaker systems
  • Identify and manage vendors to manufacturer products
  • Peer with the Ventures GTM (Go to Market) function, and assist in the product development through launch
  • Integrate needs and solutions with our Architectural partners
  • Design mechanical systems using DFM principals “Design for Manufacture”
  • Perform accelerated life cycle testing in and out of the lab
  • Lead the Design, Prototype cycles and provide manufacturing oversight
  • Lead material studies
  • Conducting experiments methodically, analyzing data and interpreting results
  • Intuition and resolve in debugging problems
  • Estimate budget and scope of project
  • Preparing and managing an actual production run of designed product


  • Mechanical Engineering Degree
  • Experience with products that integrate or produce Radio Frequency i.e WiFi / Cellular technology
  • Experience with manufacturing processes including Plastic Injection Molding, Compression Rubber, Sheet metal, Extrusion, Die Casting, Machining, and Anodization.
  • Strong knowledgeable of materials
  • Experienced with the following: AutoCAD, Fusion 360, SOLIDWORKS 2016, Creo, ZBrush, Revvit, Rhinoceros
  • Professional fluency with: Maya / 3D Studio Max, Illustrator / Indesign
  • Have lead or been on a team, in a leadership position to bring a physical object to mass manufacture / market.
  • Extensive experience with 3D printing, Desktop lathe, CNC operation



Preferred Qualifications:


  • Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with Dynamic Structure
  • Knowledge of the entertainment industry
  • Fluency in reading and understanding Architectural and BIM documents
  • Knowledge of ADA requirements for public usage
  • Experience with IoT ecosystem
  • Active maker with experience in Arduino, Spark, Nuk
  • Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese

Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
