    Responsibilities

    The Principal Product Manager will be responsible for leading the product roadmap for MSG Ventures. This position will work cross functionally within the Ventures organization, enabling innovation by collaborating with talented individuals in a test-and-learn culture. Not only will this position need to be an expert in managing the product lifecycle, they will need the ability to go deep on technology trends, architectural questions, stack, control points, roadmaps and managing the development lifecycle.

     

    The Principal Product Manager will need to deeply understand market trends, partner ecosystems and competitive strategies in the relevant business areas that Ventures is exploring. They should be comfortable with business strategy, portfolio prioritization, go-to-market, and tracking key performance indicators and financial metrics.

    • Define overall strategy, product roadmap and technical/feature specifications for new products based on long-term product vision, user needs, technical and market trends, and platform capabilities.
    • Own and manage product life cycle from inception through to execution, and productization
    • Develop detailed, crisp business requirements, and user stories that can be used to create product specifications and architecture for each product and application
    • Contribute to new product design and positioning by drafting product vision, requirements document for new products, and develop overall user experience
    • Manage the product execution working closely with Engineering, Labs/R&D, Industrial Design, Product Design and partner teams to engineer the best experience for our users.
    • Evaluate mechanical design, CMF and production decisions as part of the product development lifecycle.
    • Identify gaps or conflicts in requirements, manage risks and UAT defects and drive towards resolution
    • Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team’s ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals

    Qualifications

    • BA/BS degree in, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field
    • 8+ years of Product Management or similar experience, with demonstrated experience in product lifecycle management – from ideation to launch
    • Experience with consumer hardware development life cycles and ODM/CM working models. Experience with personal, mobile and embedded device operating systems and SW applications development life cycles.
    • Experience with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Industrial/Product Design, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Support, Partnerships, and Legal.
    • Outstanding project management skills (projects involving internal and external stakeholders) with ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads
    • Ability to synthesize complex ideas into simple, concise statements and core messages
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to champion initiatives internally and externally. Ability to communicate with executives and external partners.
    • Ability to lead teams, communicate with diverse groups, and influence change throughout the organization
    • Customer Experience grounding: ability to design customer centric experiences throughout the customer decision journey

    Education

    Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
