    The Manager People Practices (PP) Policy and Compliance is responsible for providing recommendations, guidance and a point of view on all people related policies and ensure compliance with all legal requirements.  This position is responsible for accomplishing compliance related business objectives by producing value-added employee results; offering information and opinion as a member of the PP team; integrating objectives with other business units.


    This position serves as a strategic partner responsible for providing guidance, support and developing/updating processes to ensure compliance with employment-related local, state and federal ordinances, statutes and regulations, including but not limited to legal requirements pertaining employee benefits, wages & hours, employment discrimination, payroll taxes, affirmative action and related regulations, immigration. 


    • Working within the current established framework to enhance and/or develop policies and programs related to the effective management of the people resources of the corporation. Included in this area but not limited only to the following would be programs for employee relations, sexual harassment, employee complaints, external education and career development, along with those mentioned above.
    • Maintain knowledge of PP policies, programs, laws and issues. Understand the differences of state policies and programs and coordinate the integration of all such programs and laws.
    • Continue improving the programs, policies, practices and processes associated with meeting the strategic and operational people issues of the organization
    • Manage other people related policies such as vacation, paid time off, relocation, etc.
    • As a member of the People Practices Department develops effective compliance communications and training including introductory training for new employees and periodic refresher or updated communication
    • Provides related reporting to senior leaders on people governance.
    • Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values.
    • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation.
    • Develops and updates compliance issues in manuals, as needed.
    • Develops/modifies company forms and contracts used in business operations.
    • Works to successfully integrate policies and procedures of newly acquired companies.
    • Develops compliance organizational strategies by contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
    • Establishes compliance operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; implementing change.


    • Establish credibility throughout the organization with management and the employees in order to be an effective listener and problem solver of people issues.
    • Extensive experience with Human Resources Compliance
    • Knowledge of and experience with issues relating to compliance with DOL regulations
    • HR Information Systems a plus
    • Experience with I-9 procedures for remote workers   
    • Experience with PeopleSoft HRMS reporting and queries
    • Supervisory experience
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
    • Strong leader 


    Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
