The Technical Manager will be a key show technology architect and expert to liaison with MSG Productions, providing solutions and support for live theatrical productions and venue live events with a deep working knowledge in the execution and integration of technologies including Audio (Consoles, Playback, Time Code, Control), Video (Cameras, LED Walls, Playback Servers, Editing, MAM, Projection), IP Networking (Core and Edge Switching, Servers), Show Control (Database, programming), Automation (motorized stage systems and computer automation), Lighting, Staging, and Special Effects systems.
This person acts as the liaison between various creative and technical departments and designers supporting MSG Production and Venues in executing the specific needs of the show in the context of systems design, integration, and technical operating budgets.
The person will operate in partnership and collaboration with other technical manager(s). The opportunity is for an individual who can bring innovation and passion to the work place every day. The ideal candidate will help to continue to advance the world’s greatest productions and provide for the most unique and immersive theatrical experience for our audiences.
This position will perform project manager duties for assigned technology projects related to Radio City Productions. Project Management skills include; planning, organizing, execution and compliance of technical projects and timelines. Must work independently; communicate effectively with internal and external team members as well as accurately estimating and executing timelines. Additionally, this position will help define the goals and objectives of the project, determine when the various project components are to be completed and by whom, and create quality control checks to ensure that completed components meet industry and or MSG standards. This position will contribute to the negotiation and resolution of technical and production issues as well as the development of relationships at all levels of the organization.
Collaboration with Technical Crews with up to 100+ individuals per event or production.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Normal office environment. May be expected to lift approximately 20 pounds. Will be required to travel. Occasional long hours depending on the schedule and season. Must be flexible to work nights or weekends.
Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
