    Role Summary

    The Manager, Student Associate Program will manage full life cycle recruiting for a broad range of positions across the entire MSG portfolio targeted at the Student Associate and Enterprise Manager Rotation level. This position plays a critical role in driving an entry level pipeline of high quality, high caliber students to assume FT roles within MSG. The Manager leads a team that creates and maintains strong partnerships with colleges and universities across the US that markets career opportunities to students. Build brand awareness by hosting targeted events both on campus and on-site at MSG. Is the program leader and point person for students during their semester with MSG by managing their experience, their communication with their supervisor, their performance and professional development. Establishes program curriculum for students to ensure positive brand experience and ensures key learnings. Works closely with the business and finance to ensure alignment on budget. Manager is responsible for leading all recruitment functions including resume sourcing, phone screens, executive referrals, in-person interviews, offer generation, onboarding, program management, performance and college relations. Partners regularly with People Acquisition to drive conversion of students to full time roles.

    Specific Functions/Activities Summary

    • Oversee the Student Associate Program and Rotation Enterprise Management recruitment for all divisions within Madison Square Garden. 
    • Manage recruitment life cycle, including resume sourcing, phone screens, in-person interviews, department interviews, identifying candidates and on boarding new hires by initiating pre-employment screens and completing pre-hire paperwork.
    • Develops and manages strategic campus partnerships to build brand & program awareness.
    • Drives quality candidate pools by facilitating both on-campus and MSG onsite events; including career fairs, spotlight presentations, and mock interviews.
    • Development and evaluation of learning curriculum for student associates; including online learnings, in-person professional development workshops, networking opportunities, and the creative assignment capstone project.
    • Facilitates Student Associate events, including orientation, MSG Office hours, creative assignment sessions, and professional development sessions.  Continues to identify new events that engage students and elevate program experience.   
    • Accurately tracks, maintains, reports and utilizes student associate data to ensure sound hiring practices; including original source, university, year, grade point average, and demographic information.
    • Ensure candidates have world-class experience by assisting with questions and concerns during the recruitment and employee life-cycle. 
    • Collaborate with executives in Finance, HR partners to develop a strong understanding of department structure, business strategy and student needs throughout the year. 
    • Manage referral process by completing phone screens, interviews and following-up with the referring executive. 

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or commensurate HR/Recruiting experience
    • Proven ability to handle and manage high volume recruiting, campus recruiting experience preferred.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of sports and/or entertainment industry
    • Experience utilizing multiple candidate development tools, including; social media, networking, referrals, as well as managing retained and contingent searches
    • Strong consultative relationship building skills and ability to effectively interact with all levels within an organization; credibility to influence at the highest levels within the division
    • Ability to work in a collaborative and inclusive team environment
    • Proven capability to proactively and urgently address business issues and escalate, as needed
    • Ability to work in a fast pace, professional environment
    • Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information appropriately
    • Exceptional ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously with attention to detail, strong organizational, time management, analytical and problem solving skills

    Education

    Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
