    Counter Logic Gaming (CLG) is a premier North American esports organization known for its passionate fan base and winning culture. Founded originally in 2010 as a League of Legends team by George Georgallidis, it’s now one of the largest esports organizations in the world. CLG fields teams in many leading esports titles: League of Legends, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Super Smash Bros., H1Z1, Rainbow Six, Rocket League, and SMITE. It is also known for its past success with teams in DOTA 2, Hearthstone, Halo, and Call of Duty. CLG has won multiple championships throughout its history: the LCS Summer 2015 Championship at Madison Square Garden; the LCS Spring 2016 Championship at Mandalay Bay; and the Halo 2016 World Championship in Hollywood.

    Role Summary

    As the Business Operations Lead, you will be a critical leader and thought partner to all business units throughout Counter Logic Gaming. You will be responsible for contributing insights into our financial performance, making recommendations on and assisting with strategic and operational initiatives. You will also build scalable tools and systems because you get excited about running reports and want to guide our company’s decisions by helping us plan successfully so we continue to scale. The ideal candidate has extensive experience investigating ambiguous problems and delivering objective analysis.

    Specific Functions/Activities Summary

    • Develop structured, analytical frameworks for modeling new business initiatives. Produce forecasts that guide decision making.
    • Communicate actionable, strategic recommendations to leadership on new business initiatives, go-to-market strategy, and opportunities for growth and optimizations.
    • Own the company financial model, ensuring up-to-date assumptions to drive financial analysis, driving key insights across the company, and being the subject matter expert for all internal stakeholders.
    • Stay abreast of and share industry, competitor, and consumer behavior trends that can impact CLG
    • Develop financial models that guide our strategic decision-making on revenue drivers and new initiatives by assessing financial return and ROI
    • Partner with and assist leadership in managing revenues and costs by assessing their informational needs and developing processes and tools that address them
    • Provide data-driven and in-depth financial analyses for decision-making across our teams and initiatives
    • Help create and track KPI trends and forecast the impact of new initiatives and market trends
    • Translate company goals into annual financial projections, backed by market data

    Qualifications

    • 1 - 4 years of full-time experience within Finance and Data Analysis or BizOps
    • Expert financial modeling (Microsoft Excel)
    • Knowledge of gaming and esports ecosystems and trends
    • Highly analytical, good at breaking down problems and delivering action
    • Comfort with ambiguity: apply structured, analytical thinking to new, undefined problems
    • Scientific mindset: develop hypotheses based on objective data; adapt to changing facts
    • Excellent business intuition
    • Team first attitude: willing to shift from high-level critical thinking to rolling up your sleeves and supporting implementation
    • Resourcefulness in obtaining data when clean and or complete information is not available
    • Creativity and organizational ability to build structure around loosely defined projects

    Education

    Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
